The February meeting was very informative, as many of the upcoming events for 2011 were laid out.

1. The adventure for discussion for the March meeting (to be held chez Wood at 7:00 pm, March 1) will be “The Retired Colourman” this is the final story in

2. Please mark your calendars for our “Master’s Dinner”. This most prestigious event will take place on Saturday, March 19 at Bessborough Armories (bar opens at 6:00 pm). A wonderfully-catered affair featuring a five-course meal. This event has always proved to be a lively event full of Sherlockian fellowship and entertainment. The Petrel Players are sure to perform to perfection!

3. Besides our regular meeting in April (The story for discussion at this meeting will be Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s well-known tale of “The Lost Special” ) a Classic Movie Night has also been scheduled for Friday, April 15 at UBC. Details will be announced at a later date.

Also scheduled for later this year: Our annual “Reichenbach Falls” picninc, our “Silver Blaze Race” a meeting at Sherlock’s Cafe in New Westminster and a “Sins of the City” tour hosted by the Vancouver Police Museum.

Fran has held several positions with The Stormy Petrels of B.C. including secretary, vice-president, special events coordinator and is currently president and editor of the "Petrel Flyer". She was honoured with being awarded the title of "Master Bootmaker" in 2014. She was very pleased to present a paper to a meeting of Sir Hugo's Companions in Chicago in 2017. Fran has contributed articles to Canadian Holmes magazine, the Watsonian and Chris Redmond's "About Sixty" and "Sherlock Holmes is Like...". In May, 2018 she attended the 78th annual Speckled Band of Boston dinner. She was very honoured to have been one of the first women invited.
