AT THE OMSI

	Your ‘Consulting Detective’ was in Portland, Oregon recently to experience The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. The exhibit certainly did not disappoint. Arrive early as there is so much to see and do. The re-creation of the sitting room was very impressive. The attention to detail was amazing.
	The booklet you receive will allow you to gather clues to a murder. It was not as easy as I thought. Study the marks in the stand, the bullet’s trajectory, match the blood splatter and more.
After January 5, 2014, the exhibit will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio.
	I was very pleased to meet with the well-known Sherlockian, Sonia Fetherston, BSI, author and contributor to the Baker Street Journal and other publications. We had much to discuss over lunch at the gorgeous Benson Hotel.
I also had the opportunity to meet up with several of the Portland Sherlock Holmes group, “The Noble and Most Singular Order of the Blue Carbuncle”. Hopefully the exhibit will come to Vancouver, but not after touring nine more US cities.

Fran has held several positions with The Stormy Petrels of B.C. including secretary, vice-president, special events coordinator and is currently president and editor of the "Petrel Flyer". She was honoured with being awarded the title of "Master Bootmaker" in 2014. She was very pleased to present a paper to a meeting of Sir Hugo's Companions in Chicago in 2017. Fran has contributed articles to Canadian Holmes magazine, the Watsonian and Chris Redmond's "About Sixty" and "Sherlock Holmes is Like...".
