Tuesday, December 10th, at Hampton Place, 6:30

Come a bit early to help us to enjoy a bit of a Christmassy celebration – special treats to recognize the holiday season.

Leah is preparing a game for us to start things off (with prizes) and there will be a second game at the end if there is time.

In between we will finish off the Hound of the Baskervilles (bring your pistols) and also discuss our next social event, the Milltown brunch in January.  Perhaps discuss what we think our website should look like.  And decide what story to do next (probably Wisteria Lodge).

If anyone would like to do a presentation, let Sheldon know.  We have time for one 15-minute presentation, so it will be first come, first served.

There will be prizes?  And Gary!

Sheldon will send Musings, Minutes, and a more formal agenda the day before.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (Part, the second)

The NOVEMBER meeting of the Stormy Petrels of British Columbia will be held on Tuesday, November 5th at 7 pm at Hampton House (near UBC). If you need specific instructions please send an email.

We will discuss Chapters 6-10 of The Hound of the Baskervilles and also I think hold Executive elections for President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Foreign Affairs Secretary, and Events Coordinator, positions held currently by me (Sheldon), Brian, Andy, Bob, and Leah.  Let me know if you are interested in running.  Perhaps coincidentally there will be another election that day for our brethren to the south.

Oh, and while we wait, here’s a report on a new Sherlockian TV show:

OCTOBER MEETING -Tuesday, October 1, 7:00pm

Our October meeting will be as early in October as possible: Tuesday, October 1, 7 pm at Hampton Place at UBC to discuss the first five chapters of The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Also perhaps to discuss the interesting recruitment suggestions presented by the Recruitment Committee last time and maybe even talk of elections (not BC elections or US elections, but Petrel elections).

BTW, Nicholas Meyer, who some of us saw make one of the keynote presentations to the Bootmakers in 2022, is out with a new Sherlockian pastiche: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/199601540-sherlock-holmes-and-the-telegram-from-hell
