“The Hound of the Baskervilles”

First published in The Strand Magazine from Aug. 1901 to April 1902.

How does the “Curse of the Baskervilles” dating back to 1742 affect Sir Henry, arriving from Canada? What is the significance of Sir Henry’s missing boot once he arrived in London?

Holmes: “‘Footprints? A man or a woman’s?'”

“Dr. Mortimer looked strangely at us for an instant, and his voice sank almost to a whisper as he answered: ‘Mr. Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound!””

The Stormy Petrels will discuss the first 5 chapters on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7:00pm, at the usual Hampton Place. In spirit, we shall travel to Dartmoor, where apparent devilry is afoot!
