“The Hound of the Baskervilles”

Most people, Sherlockian or not, have heard of The Hound of the Baskervilles.  This production is like no other retelling of the tale. The hellish beast roaming the moors of Dartmoor.

The three actors who, through quick costume changes, were brilliant in their roles. From the French Sherlock ‘olmes to the ‘ravishing’ Cecile Stapleton.

The group of Stormy Petrels who attended this production were all thoroughly entertained, to say the least.

You can still witness this wonderfully hilarious spoof, the Western Canadian premier, at the Newton Cultural Centre, located at 13530 – 72nd Ave., Surrey, on until October 31st.  The fog begins rolling across the moor at 7:30.

November Meeting

“Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?”
“To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.”
“The dog did nothing in the night-time.”
“That was the curious incident,” remarked Sherlock Holmes.

The next regular meeting of the Stormy Petrels of BC will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, 7:00pm at Hampton Place.

The story for discussion? “Silver Blaze” A story about horse racing, a sport of which Doyle confessed that he knew little. “A sport is what a man does, not what a horse does.”

OCTOBER MEETING

A ‘gothic’ tale whose strange inhabitants has Sherlock Holmes a little concerned for the governess who seeks his advice. “No sister of mine…”

The story for discussion is “The Adventure of the Copper Beeches.”
Come dressed in your favourite electric blue (no need to cut your hair, though) on October 1, 7:00, Hampton Place.
